It happened at a gas station in Mogi Das Cruzes, Brazil. One night the owners of the station noticed a black labrador retriever wandering around outside. He appeared to be lost, but was staying near the station.
Owner Sabrina Plannerer realized that the dog had been abandoned by his owners, and was hanging near the station in hopes that they’d come back for him. She immediately felt sorry for the pooch, and she and her partner decided to take him in.
“We adopted him immediately and got him all the care animals need. We took him to the vet to get vaccinated and de-wormed. We bought him food, a dog house, and a leash to take him on walks.”
They named the big black dog Negão. His friendly personality made him a hit at the station. Plannerer decided that he would be a wonderful addition to her staff.
Negão was given his own employee id badge and was tasked with greeting customers as they come into the station. So far, he’s been a sure hit.
Plannerer said this about her newest employee:
“Negão waits for people to arrive, and then goes up to say hello, winning them over with his charms.”
She says that customers even bring the dog treats and toys. The other employees say that they love having the four legged colleague at work.
The happy Lab has also become the face of a local animal charity called Grupo FERA. They love having him help people in the area gain a new respect for animals.
