70-year-old Satoru Nomura is apparently not one to suffer medical malpractice in silence. The former member of the Kudo-kai organized crime group, which is part of the larger yakuza underground in Japan, stands accused of ordering a hit on a nurse four years ago.
The specifics of this mob case are very bizarre.
According to a statement made in the Fukuoka District Court, the prosecution team claimed that Nomura hired an underling named Yoshinobu Nakata, 41, to stab the unnamed nurse following a botched penis enlargement surgery.
Nomura, the recipient of this poorly managed cosmetic surgery, used his underworld clout to gain some revenge.
The official indictment papers report that Nomura underwent the surgery in August 2012 at a clinic in Kitakyushu, Kokurakita Ward. After experiencing post-operation difficulties, Nomura threatened the nurse during a heated dispute.
Months later, on January 28, 2013, it is believed that Nakata followed the nurse, who is said to be in her 40s, home and stabbed her from behind. The nurse suffered stab wounds to her head and chest, but managed to survive.
