There are some outrageous ways to style hair. At times, you may want to take a ride on the wild side to have your hair looking the very best.
Would you like your hair styled with some torching on the side?
A Palestinian barber, Ramadan Odwan, is taking things to a new level of creativity when it comes to hair styling. Odwan is using his skills and showing how a real, experienced barber gets it done—by using a blowtorch.
While it seems, and looks frightening, the blowtorching method is used while smoothing the customer’s hair. Don’t worry, Odwan puts protective liquid coating in their hair before putting the flames on.
I control how long I apply fire. I keep it on and off for 10 seconds or 15 seconds. It is completely safe and I have not encountered any accident since I started it two months ago.
This blowtorching method has become increasingly popular among those who are more on the adventurous side, or just simply want to get that fire smooth hair. If you have $5 handy, you can also experience what it’s like to have your hair torched.
Odwan is not a new kid on the block in the barber industry and has 18 years of experience. Another reason why he chose to blowtorch is to show that:
Palestinian barbers are as professional as those out there around the world.
Odwan is not the only barber to use unique and scary methods to style hair. Hairstylist Alberto Olmedo cuts his clients’ hair using a blowtorch and samurai swords. Wait. What?
You’re probably sitting there asking yourself, ‘Why would someone let a hairstylist use a sword to chop their hair?’
Olmedo has a valid explanation for that. Instead of cutting just one side at a time, he utilizes swords to cut both sides at the same time. This is to prevent “cutting two sides of your hair unevenly.” Once he’s done with sword chopping, he unleashes the torch for the finishing touches. Perfection.
