This Might Be The Most Romantic Anniversary Gift Ever (VIDEO)

Picture this: you are coming up on your twentieth wedding anniversary. You really love your wife very much, and you want to give her something extra special.

Tradition says that you should give china. But you already have enough dishes and cups.

How about jewelry? A ring, or a nice necklace? Those always make good anniversary gifts.

If you are Scott Chafian of Suffolk, Virginia, you probably have a better idea for a gift. If you are Scott Chafian, you have the unique opportunity of giving your wife the gift of life.

Cindy Chafian, who has been married to Scott for almost 20 years, suffers from polycystic kidney disease. The disease affects around 600,000 Americans every year. It can lead to kidney failure, which has happened to Cindy. She has been on dialysis for more than two years.

And for the past six years, her husband Scott has wanted to donate a kidney to spare her from all of the pain and sickness. She has consistently declined his generous and loving offer.

Finally, though, she is sick enough to accept. She said:

“I hit kind of rock bottom, and I looked at him and I said OK, I’m ready.”

After waiting for so long to give his wife the chance to continue living, Scott Chafian will finally get his wish. The doctors have set up the surgery for January 24, which happens to be the day before the couple’s big anniversary.

The medical team is delighted, saying that Scott is the “cleanest” donor they’ve ever had.

Scott is delighted, because he will have more years to enjoy with the woman he loves so much.

And Cindy is delighted, because she will have a second chance at life. A second chance to spend time with her husband and family. A second chance to show him that she loves him right back.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help the couple with all of the medical expenses associated with the complex surgery. Since neither one can work during the surgery and recovery, they will need help to pay their bills and to deal with all of the costs associated with it.

If all goes well, and both recover and go on to see their 25th Anniversary, Scott can come up with a nice piece of jewelry or some dinner plates to make up for what was missed this time around.
