Reality star and former Olympian, Caitlyn Jenner, has recently revealed the political considerations that she has been undertaking.
She has spoken about politics often. As a well known Republican, she claims she would rather have a conservative government and convince them to be more liberal socially, than vote for liberal policies.
Yeah, I would look for a senatorial run. I like the political side of it. I work very closely with a group called the American Unity Fund whose mission statement is to get the Republican Party to do a better job when it comes to all LGBT issues. That’s my issue.
I’m obviously more on the T portion of the LGBT and I want people to understand that. But the political side of it has always been very intriguing to me.
Over the next six months or so, I’ve gotta find out where I can do a better job.
Can I do a better job on the outside? Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene [and] being open to talk to anybody.
Or are you better off from the inside, and we are in the process of determining that.
Jenner has drawn the ire of many in the LGBT community for voting for President Donald Trump. She has admitted that in the past she has been disappointed with the direction he has taken.
She told the women of The View recently that she does a lot of political activism behind the scenes. In the candid interview, she admitted the Democrats are better on LGBT matters than Republicans.
However, this did not at all mean that she was switching sides. Instead, she sees it as the Republicans needing help in that area, and believes that is where she comes in.
Its seems that running for the Senate is something on the horizon for Jenner and we will then see come election time whether being a reality star carries as much weight for her as it did for Trump, or not.
