A bar in Washington, D.C. is offering free drinks for every time President Donald Trump tweets about former FBI Director James Comey’s highly-anticipated testimony on Thursday morning.
The Union Pub says:
“This ‘special’ will run til Comey’s testimony is over, or 4pm, whichever is earlier.”
President Donald Trump said that he would likely be live-tweeting during the testimony.
The Washington Post’s Robert Costa said:
“I was just talking to some White House officials this morning and their view is that the president himself wants to be the messenger, his own warrior, his own lawyer, his own spokesman.”
“… The president is expected to be tweeting on Thursday in response to Comey, not to stay quiet during the testimony, because he himself wants to be the one driving the process.”
Although Trump is scheduled to be speaking at a conservative religious conference at 11:30 on Thursday, so that will likely overlap with the testimony.
So far, President Trump hasn’t tweeted yet during the testimony, but it has only been 15 minutes. I’m sure the aides can only keep the phone out of the president’s hand for so long.
If you plan to be drinking during this testimony, please drink responsibly. Arrange an Uber, Lyft, cab, or another form of a ride if you plan to be drinking.
