The CBC, Canadas national broadcasting corporation, ran a competition for the countries children. The prize was to be Prime Minister for the day and entrants had to write about what they would do if they were Prime Minister. The winner, five-year-old Bella, wrote:
“As Prime Minster, I would make sure everyone has homes and everyone is safe. I would hug everyone. I would make sure animals and the world around us are kept safe. I would make sure every Canadian is healthy. I would show kindness to everyone.”
When she went to Ottawa for the day, Prime Minister Bella met Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and, as they were sharing an office she asked if she could build a pillow fort. Not only did Trudeau say yes, but he started moving furniture, helped with the building and climbed inside the finished fort.
