If you watch President Trump in action, you’d think that everybody in the world must want to have his job. He struts around like the king of the world and Tweets endlessly about all the great things he’s doing.
He just loves being King. Or President. He isn’t sure there’s a difference.
But not everyone yearns to walk in the same shoes.
Take former Speaker of the House John Boehner, for example. The man who once lead the Republicans in the House of Representatives says that he is thoroughly enjoying retirement, and has no desire to come back to the world of politics. Especially not to the job of President! Boehner said:
I wake up every day, drink my morning coffee and say hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.I don’t want to be president. I drink red wine. I smoke cigarettes. I golf. I cut my own grass. I iron my own clothes. And I’m not willing to give all that up to be president.”
I don’t know about anyone else, but I absolutely love the idea of Speaker Boehner mowing his lawn with a cigarette in the corner of his mouth.
And how does the happily relaxed Mr. Boehner view the Presidency of Donald Trump?
Boehner said that he has been a friend of Trump’s for many years, and has played golf with him on more than one occasion. But he admits that he never imagined seeing his pal in the Oval Office. He gave the President good grades on foreign policy, but said:
Everything else he’s done [in office] has been a complete disaster.”
Wow. With friends like that, I wonder if Trump needs any enemies?
