Texas parody law

Tit For Tat: Texas State Rep. Wants To Fine Men For Doing What? (VIDEO)

In a surprise move, Jessica Farrar, a  Texas State Representative has put forward a law to try and illustrate to men how many women feel about anti-abortion laws. She has put forward a proposal for men to be fined for …ahem… pleasuring themselves. It is of course a joke and a “how would you like it” parody aimed directly at men who like to mandate laws over women’s bodies and decisions.

The four page parody bill includes statements such as each emission via masturbation ‘will be considered an act against an unborn child.’ It would also mean a $100 fine. Farrar told the Texas Tribune:

Men have to answer for their actions and so forth. So if there’s going to be an emission, it would have to be done in a hospital where the semen could be preserved for future pregnancies or it would be directly deposited into the vagina of a woman.

Other parts of the bill say that men will need to seek consultation 24 hours before procedures such as a vasectomy or colonoscopy or even before being prescribed Viagra. This is of course a dig at the laws surrounding women obtaining an abortion which demand she has an ultra -sound 24 hours before the procedure.

Farrar told the Houston that people will find the bill funny although on a serious note she added:

What’s not funny are the obstacles that Texas women face every day, that were placed there by legislatures making it very difficult for them to access health care.

Farrar is really wanting people to stop and think about the barriers that are put up for women concerning their decisions. When applied to men they are seen as intrusive and unnecessary.

It will be eye opening for men to see how they would feel with similar walls women face that are intended to control their own sexual choices and health.
