Just one day after the awkward press conference between President Abe of Japan and President Trump at the White House, the ever bumbling leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un test fired his first missile of 2017.
There had been 24 test launches in 2016 and, though North Korea has been banned from these types of actions by the UN, they made sure to make a statement to Japan and the United States by firing what appears to be a intermediate-range Musudan missile into the Sea of Japan.
Shortly thereafter, at around 10:45 pm Eastern, both President Abe and President Trump called a press conference where Abe stated:
North Korea’s most recent missile launch is absolutely intolerable. North Korea must fully comply with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Trump than got up, after a long and arduous day on the golf course and simply stated:
I just want everybody to understand and fully know that the United States of America stands behind Japan, its great ally, 100%.
I wonder if Putin is getting jealous over Trump’s new love affair with Japan’s main man? And come on Kim Jong Un, stop playing with your toys, you keep causing international incidents.
