With the politically charged revival of Saturday Night Live, and a strong dislike towards the current regime among Hollywood’s biggest and brightest, the stars are standing in line for a chance to imitate President Trump’s cabinet in upcoming episodes.
The latest request came from The Good Wife’s, Christine Baranski who told Vanity Fair that she would love to play the new Secretary of Education, Betsy Devos on SNL. Baranski stated:
It would seem somewhat logical—we have that strong jawline, don’t we? I can play people with whom I drastically disagree. The [SNL] sketches have been unbelievable all through the election, and the post-election. So yeah, we could have a revolving door of people playing the cabinet members and all.
Devos, recently voted in by the Senate, has proven to be not so qualified for her current position. However, seeing that we have a reality television star as our current president, this shouldn’t be such a shock.
Baranski joins the long list of stars stepping up to play these pivotal roles including Rosie O’Donnell as Steve Bannon and Billy Baldwin as Eric Trump. Billy’s brother, Alec Baldwin, has made headlines throughout the election season and into the presidency with his hilarious portrayal of Donald Trump.
Most recently, Melissa McCarthy shocked viewers with her surprise role as White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer. With so much bad going on in this country at least we can tune in to SNL and have a really good laugh.
