Chevy actually built a full-size Lego Batmobile that they unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show and is in an effort to promote ” The Lego Batman Movie.” It is pretty dang sweet and boasts the use of thousands of Legos.
In fact, the Batmobile is built of exactly 344,187 bricks took over 1,800 hours to build. In a statement to Automotive News, vice president of Chevrolet marketing, Paul Edwards stated:
“To work on the Lego Batmobile with Warner Bros. is an absolute thrill for us at Chevy. Many of the themes in The Lego Batman Movie, like imagination, family and community, align perfectly with our Chevy brand values and add to the value of the partnership.”
The car also appears in a commercial that is shadowed after the Chevy Malibu commercial where “real people” were used to describe the type of person they thought would drive the Malibu. For the Lego version, Lego Batman and others were used to the same effect except instead of the Malibu they were judging the owner of the Batmobile.
